What is Intwasa?
Intwasa Arts Fetival koBulawayo, popularly known as Intwasa is a non-profit arts organisation that creates & provides innovative platforms for diverse cultural and creative expressions. Founded in 2004, the festival provides platforms that celebrate the diversity of human cultures & creation in the following disciplines: music, film, spoken word, theatre, dance, literary arts, fashion & crafts. The festival is hosted in the city of Bulawayo.
Apart from the annual festival, Intwasa also runs a number of cummunity initiatives which include Education & Skills Development, Advocacy & Engagement and Publications
Intwasa is a Ndebele word meaning Spring. The season of spring. Spring is about rebirth, change, and new beginnings.
